 The preparation of an efficient and highly qualified generation of oil engineers capable of working in Oil Refineries, Petrochemicals  and all the oil and gas industry facilities in the public and private sector companies, keeping abreast of the rapid global progress in this vital field and preparing researches and applied studies in all fields of oil and gas industry.

 Preparing and qualifying a new generation of graduates of oil engineers who are distinguished and specialized in practicing the profession to meet the needs of the growing labor market through the implementation of educational curricula and training programs and scientific excellence using educational techniques according to approved academic standards and highly qualified teaching staff and conducting studies and research Applied and provide engineering consultancy in all fields of oil and gas industry.

Objectives

1- Preparing engineers with high technical level to work inOil refining natural gas.

2. Developing laboratories and educational and training units to bring theoretical and engineering information closer to practical reality.

3 - Giving graduate engineers sufficient information to enable them to operate or supervise the operation of industrial units for oil refineries and petrochemical and petrochemical plants.

4 - Cooperation with the corresponding departments in the universities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop scientific curricula and benefit from the curricula of international universities in this field.

5 - Cooperation with international and local companies to train  students and make them qualified to work in the oil refineries and petrochemical field .

6. Building close cooperation relations with the oil companies for the public and private sector in the field of development and rehabilitation of engineering and technical staff.

 7 - Prepare the requirements of research and development in the field of Oil refining to keep up with the global developments in this area by providing scientific and research laboratories.

 8. Provide a database on Iraqi oil and gas fields and on the properties of crude oil and natural gas in order to select the field of benefit.

9 - Holding conferences, seminars and seminars in cooperation with the corresponding departments in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and oil companies affiliated to the Ministry of Oil and foreign companies and participate in international conferences and seminars in this area.

10- Setting up training courses within the continuing education courses in various fields of oil industry in order to qualify and develop engineering and technical cadres.
